There are several ongoing trials that need volunteers. Your
participation is crucial in our quest for understanding Alzheimers
and providing hope to those afflicted with this disease. Transportation
may be available to those who qualify.
Aricept Study: Severely impaired Alzheimers patients,
65-90 needed for this placebo controlled study. This drug has
shown to be helpful in the early stages of AD, but tests are
needed to understand its effectiveness in severely demented
patients.
Genetic Markers: We need people with normal memory or
Alzheimers patients between the ages of 18-90. This study
hopes to find a gene associated with the development of AD.
Metabolic Markers: Need people with normal memory, mild
memory impairment, or Alzheimers between the ages of 65-90.
Similar to the genetic markers, this study uses blood & urine markers to predict the course of AD.
Healthy Aging and Memory: People with normal memory who
are 75 and older. The goal of this study is to test the efficacy
of our detection techniques.
Vitamin B-6 Treatment: Alzheimers patients and
those with normal memory needed.
Statin Study: Looking for healthy Alzheimers patients
with normal cholesterol levels and stable medications. This
placebo controlled study investigates the effects of the cholesterol-lowering
statin drugs on cognitive function in Alzheimers patients.
No age requirements.
